How to look after it.
Everything we weave is made to be used, washed and used again. What follows is how each cloth behaves, and the few habits that keep it looking like it did on the first day. Where a piece carries a care label, that label wins.
- Read the label firstFibre content decides everything else, and a label always outranks a general guide.
- Cool water, gentle cycleHeat is what shrinks and fades. Cold rarely costs you anything in cleanliness.
- Skip the fabric softenerIt coats natural fibre, blunting absorbency and dulling the hand.
- Dry in the shadeDirect sun fades dye and stiffens fibre. Airflow does the work, not heat.

Organic cotton
Machine washable, and it softens with every wash. The pattern is woven into the cloth, so it cannot crack or peel off the surface.
AvoidWash it and use it. This is the least precious cloth we make.

Alpaca and recycled wool
Both fibres are animal hair, so they felt if you combine water, movement and heat. A still soak in cool water, then dry flat in the shade.
AvoidNever wring, never tumble dry, never hang it wet.

Turkish cotton
The smooth flat weave is what makes it absorbent and quick-drying. It has no pile to crush, so it keeps working as it softens.
AvoidSkip fabric softener. It coats the fibre and blunts absorbency.

Cotton and bamboo
A blend woven for drape. It behaves like cotton, with a smoother surface and a little more fluidity.
AvoidTreat it as you would the organic cotton.

Waffle weave
The raised cells hold air, which is where the warmth comes from without the weight. Those cells are structural, so keep them open.

TENCEL sarongs
Silky, breathable and temperature regulating, with a fluid drape. A light cloth that dries fast.
AvoidWash it gently and let it dry in the shade to keep the print bright.

Handwoven rugs
Built to be walked on. Wool rugs shed a little at first; that is loose fibre from weaving working its way out, not damage.
AvoidVacuum without a beater bar, and rotate the rug so it wears evenly.

Quilts
Gentle warmth without bulk, and sturdy enough to double as a play mat or picnic layer.
AvoidDry it thoroughly before it goes away; filled layers hold damp longer than a flat weave.
